Teaching Assistant Location: Farnham Salary: FTE £24,905 to £28,548 per annum (Actual £18,000 to £20,634 per annum) Vacancy Type: Permanent, Term Time (30.25 hours per week, spread over 5 days: 8.50am-3.20pm Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri 8.35am-3.20pm Wed) The Abbey School is committed to creating a diverse workforce. The Teaching Assistant will: Work under the direction of teaching staff/senior managers to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils with special educational needs. Work with children and young people who have a range of significant and often complex SEND for example those with autism, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech language and communication needs and those who exhibit challenging behaviour. Undertake specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. Encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
