Teaching Assistant SEMH Settings Long Term OpportunitiesTeacherActive is working with a number of specialist provisions and schools that support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking resilient, compassionate, and adaptable Teaching Assistants who are confident working in these settings.These are long-term opportunities with the potential to become permanent for the right candidates, offering a rewarding chance to make a meaningful impact on young people s lives.Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis Assist in delivering tailored learning activities to meet individual needs Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies Support pupils emotional regulation and social development Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable) A calm, patient, and resilient approach Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children What We Offer: Opportunities in supportive and well-structured SEMH settings Ongoing professional development and training ..... full job details .....
