Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD Support) Location: Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taf Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Working Hours: Monday Friday Salary: £14.25 per hourAbout the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a primary school in Treorchy. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering consistency and the chance to make a meaningful difference in a child s educational and emotional development.The successful candidate will work closely alongside the class teacher to create and maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment tailored to the pupil s individual needs.Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ASDSupport the pupil s emotional regulation and engagement with learningImplement strategies to manage behaviour linked to trauma and additional needsWork collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school staffFoster a safe, nurturing, and predictable environmentMonitor and report on the pupil s progress and wellbeing Essential Requirements: Experience working with children with ASDProven experience supporting children affected by traumaA Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or prior experience working with children with ALNStrong understanding of behaviour management strategiesAbility to build trusting, positive relationships with pupilsCalm, patient, and resilient ..... full job details .....
