Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant

Salary: £90 – £110 per day

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for work across primary schools in Wakefield?

TeacherActive is working closely with a number of primary schools across Wakefield and the surrounding areas. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to provide classroom support across a range of different settings.

Opportunities can range from individual day-to-day bookings through to full-time, long-term placements, with potential permanent opportunities depending on the needs of individual schools.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you may be responsible for:

• Supporting teachers with the delivery of classroom activities

• Working with pupils individually and in small groups

• Supporting phonics, reading, literacy and numeracy interventions

• Helping pupils remain engaged with their learning

• Providing 1:1 support where required

• Supporting pupils with additional needs

• Promoting positive behaviour within the classroom

• Adapting to different year groups and school environments

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable

• Experience across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2

• A positive and adaptable approach

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• SEND experience is desirable but not essential
