Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role in a supportive primary school?

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Didsbury, South Manchester, from September 2026. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with Autism within a Year 2 classroom.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support to a child with Autism throughout the school day

• Support the child with their learning, engagement and development

• Help promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

• Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team

• Encourage the child''s independence and participation in classroom activities

• Adapt support to meet the individual needs of the child

The Ideal Candidate:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable

• Previous experience working in a UK Primary School is essential

• Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs is highly desirable

• Patient, nurturing and empathetic approach

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• Able to build positive relationships with children

• Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting the child''s development
