The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who are struggling to engage with education.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent source of encouragement.
- Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and improve their engagement in school.
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
- Help students develop their social, emotional and educational skills.
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide a consistent approach to supporting individual pupils.
- Adapt your approach to meet the needs of different students.
- Encourage pupils to participate in lessons and wider school life.
- Provide reassurance and guidance to students who may lack confidence in their ability or place within education.
- Passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed.
- Patient, resilient and empathetic.
- Confident building positive relationships with challenging or disengaged pupils.
- Able to remain calm and consistent when faced with difficult behaviour.
- A strong communicator who can work effectively as part of a wider school team.
