Teach South Kent is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Tonbridge this September. This is a full-time opportunity supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional learning needs in a welcoming, purpose-built environment.
The school provides a highly individualised education for pupils with complex learning needs, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally through tailored support and specialist teaching.
Your Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide consistent support throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils during lessons, therapy sessions and enrichment activities.
  • Providing individual and small group support to help pupils access learning.
  • Encouraging communication, confidence and independence.
  • Using positive behaviour support strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Helping create a calm, safe and engaging learning environment.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has a caring, patient and positive approach.
  • Enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and young people.
  • Has experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Is reliable, flexible and works well as part of a team.
  • Is passionate about helping every pupil succeed.
This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Care Workers, Youth Workers, Nursery Practitioners or graduates considering a future career in education, psychology or therapy.
