Teach South Kent is recruiting a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Wouldham, Kent from September.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting children and young people with a range of complex special educational needs, including autism, communication difficulties, severe and profound learning needs, sensory needs and emotional regulation needs. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school provides a highly personalised approach to learning in a nurturing environment.

The Role

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day.
  • Help deliver engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Encourage communication, independence and social development.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Is patient, caring and resilient.
  • Has experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work or similar experience is welcomed).
  • Has an interest in supporting pupils with autism and additional learning needs.
  • Communicates well and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Is committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
