I am looking to recruit graduates to work in primary schools across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas as Teaching Assistants or 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for those who need extra help with curriculum and social needs.

Becoming a Teaching Assistant is a great way of gaining experience in the classroom if you are looking to pursue a career in teaching. By working as a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for implementing small lessons or group work set by a class teacher, maintaining good order and keeping students on task. You will need to respond to pupilsandrsquo; questions and generally assist students to undertake set activities. There will be no planning or marking involved but you do get the experience of understanding how it feels to deliver a lesson as a teacher!

Your role will initially be covering day to day and short term positions, ensuring pupils receive a consistently high level of education in a safe and stimulating learning environment. Longer term positions may also be available.

This role can be full-time, part-time or fully flexible to fit around other commitments you may have.

What youandrsquo;ll need to succeed

• At least 6 weeks experience working with children desirable
• Energetic and positive attitude
• Be educated to degree level
• Current DBS registered on the update system or willing to apply
