Teaching Assistant | Primary School in Watford | September Start | Competetive Pay

Supply Desk is currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Watford. This full-time role is available for a September start, providing an excellent opportunity to support students in their learning and development.

The school fosters an inclusive and engaging environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and eager to contribute to a positive learning experience for all students.

Job Description:


  • Support teachers in the classroom, assisting with lesson delivery and student engagement.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students who require additional help.
  • Assist with classroom management, helping to create a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Encourage student participation and support their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help with lesson preparation, organising materials, and setting up activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to enhance learning strategies.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and school activities to ensure safety and inclusion.
  • Support students with different learning styles and abilities, adapting activities to suit their needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and staff to promote student well-being and success.

Our Ideal Candidate Will:


  • Have experience working with children in a school setting (preferred but not essential).
  • Be enthusiastic, patient, and supportive, with a genuine passion for education.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills, working effectively with teachers, parents, and students.
  • Be able to motivate and encourage students to engage in their learning.
  • Be flexible, proactive, and adaptable to the needs of the school and students.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Have or be willing to undertake additional training, such as safeguarding and first aid.
