About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive school in Aylesbury is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The role involves providing both 1:1 and small-group support to help students access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
andbull; Support students with SLD in developing communication, social, and life skills
andbull; Assist with tailored activities, adapting resources to meet individual needs
andbull; Promote a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
andbull; Implement strategies from Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
andbull; Support personal care routines where required
andbull; Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure consistent support
Requirements:
andbull; Experience working with children or young people with SLD or complex needs
andbull; Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
andbull; Good understanding of SEN and willingness to learn
andbull; Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable)
andbull; Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
