We are seeking a committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing, trauma-informed SEN support group in Blackpool.This rewarding role involves working closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, including those who have experienced trauma. You will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and supported, enabling them to thrive both emotionally and academically.Key Responsibilities:Provide tailored support to Year 1 pupils within a small, supportive SEN group settingImplement trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and wellbeingAssist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activitiesBuild strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and resilienceSupport the development of communication, social, and behavioural skillsMonitor and record pupil progress, contributing to individual support plansThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (SEN experience preferred)A good understanding of trauma-informed practice or a willingness to learnPatience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skillsThe ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situationsA genuine passion for helping ..... full job details .....
