Teaching Assistant

Reeson Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in St Helens.This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting ASAP, with the potential for a permanent position within the school for the right candidate.The school has a strong commitment to inclusion and provides a supportive, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. In this role, you will work closely with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PLMD), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and regulate their emotions within a structured classroom environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH, PLMD, and additional learning needs.Support pupils with their learning, communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.Work closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and learning materials to meet individual needs.Use a calm, patient, and consistent approach when supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.Help create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence, social skills, and a positive attitude towards learning.Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and school staff.Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in school life.The Ideal CandidateThe ..... full job details .....
