The RoleDepending on your experience and the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include:Supporting pupils within the classroomWorking with individuals or small groupsAssisting teachers with lessons and classroom activitiesSupervising classes using pre-prepared workSupporting pupils with additional learning needsEncouraging positive behaviour and engagementProviding pastoral and emotional supportHelping pupils develop confidence and independenceFollowing school policies and safeguarding proceduresCreating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environmentAbout YouWe are looking for candidates who have previous experience working with children or young people in a school, education, care, youth work or support setting.You should also have:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsA patient, supportive and professional approachConfidence working with children and young peopleThe ability to follow instructions and work as part of a teamGood behaviour-management skillsA flexible and dependable attitudeA genuine interest in supporting pupils'' education and developmentAn understanding of safeguarding responsibilitiesExperience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, autism, emotional and behavioural needs or challenging behaviour would be particularly valuable. ..... full job details .....
