Contract: Long-Term - Initially Until Christmas 2026
Hours: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week

Premier Education is recruiting an experienced and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with behavioural needs at a primary school in Central Stockport.
The position is 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible and initially continuing until Christmas, with the potential to continue beyond this.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children who can display challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will need to build a positive and consistent relationship with the pupil, helping them regulate their behaviour, engage with learning and successfully access the school day.
Previous experience working within a UK primary school is essential for this position.
The Role:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with behavioural needs
Building a positive, trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil
Supporting the child to remain engaged with classroom learning
Helping the pupil manage emotions and regulate behaviour
Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Supporting the child during lessons and other parts of the school day
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
Providing consistent support 5 days per week
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience working within a UK primary school is essential
Experience providing 1:1 support is highly desirable
Experience supporting children with behavioural, SEMH or additional needs would be advantageous
Strong and consistent behaviour management skills
Patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
Reliable and able to commit to 5 days per week
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
