Job Title: Teaching Assistant andndash; Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Contract: Full-timeandndash; Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)
The Role:
The school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their PMLD provision. You will be working closely with the class teacher and other professionals to deliver bespoke learning experiences, promote independence, and meet pupilsandrsquo; complex physical, sensory, and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated activities
- Support pupils with EHCP targets, ensuring strategies are followed to maximise progress
- Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support (full training provided)
- Implement therapy programmes set by physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech andamp; language therapists
- Use a variety of communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS, eye-gaze technology)
- Promote a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where every child is valued
- Work closely with parents/carers and external agencies to provide joined-up support
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex medical needs (desirable but not essential andndash; training available)
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for inclusive education
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have limited verbal communication
- Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 in Childcare, Supporting Teaching andamp; Learning, Health andamp; Social Care, or equivalent (advantageous)
