Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Burnley area. This is a full-time maternity cover position, starting in September 2026, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established school, supporting teaching and learning across the classroom. While the role is primarily whole class support, you will also provide assistance to one pupil who requires personal care. Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND would be beneficial. Position Details: Job Title: Whole Class Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) Location: Burnley, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week (Maternity Cover), Daily Rate: 90- 95 per day plus holiday pay accrual (dependent on experience) About the Role: Support teaching and learning across whole class lessons within a secondary school setting. Work closely with the class teacher to help deliver engaging lessons and provide additional support to pupils where required. Provide individual support to one pupil, including personal care duties. Support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring they remain engaged and make progress.
