TeacherActive is currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work in a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Chelmsford and surrounding areas.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils in the classroom, helping them reach their full potential. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with learning activities, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

A sports background is desirable but not essential, offering opportunities to support PE lessons or extracurricular activities. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about education and supporting young learners.

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils
• Assist students with additional learning needs, including SEND
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Support classroom management and behaviour strategies
• Assist with preparation of learning materials and resources
• Support PE or sports activities when applicable

• Previous experience working with children (school or similar setting preferred)
• Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Genuine passion for education and supporting young learners
• Sports background desirable but not essential
• Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 in Education, Teaching, or Childcare – desirable but not essential)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
