Long Term Futures are recruiting a resilient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Barnet, supporting a Lower KS2 pupil with Autism (ASD).

This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for someone experienced in supporting children with additional needs, particularly pupils who may demonstrate challenging behaviour. The school is seeking a calm, patient and consistent individual who can build a strong relationship with the child and provide structured support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Lower KS2 pupil with ASD
• Support the pupil with learning, emotional regulation and engagement
• Implement behaviour support strategies and structured routines
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and therapists
• Support the child during lessons, transitions and unstructured times
• Promote positive behaviour, safety and inclusion

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children with ASD and challenging behaviour
• A resilient, calm and consistent approach
• Confidence working within a specialist SEN school environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
• Restraint training or de-escalation training (desirable)
