Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a welcoming, one-form-entry primary school located in Leigh. This is a unique and impactful mixed role supporting a lively Year 1 class, combining general classroom support with focused 1:1 intervention.

About the Role

In this position, you will split your time between supporting the wider Year 1 classroom environment and providing dedicated 1:1 support for a wonderful child who is currently working at a preschool developmental level.

The Child: The pupil can occasionally become distressed and requires a calm, patient, and nurturing adult who can implement emotional regulation strategies, provide reassurance, and create a safe space for learning.

Academic Support: Due to the phonics requirements of the Year 1 curriculum, phonics experience is essential for this role to help bridge learning gaps and build foundational early literacy skills.

What We Are Looking For

Hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or a recognised equivalent in childcare/education).

Previous experience supporting children within a primary school setting.

A flexible, adaptable, and reliable work ethic with a positive, proactive attitude.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).

CV must cover full employment history from leaving continuous education
