Teaching Assistant in Sutton
Are you passionate about supporting children with SEND to achieve their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated, full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.
- Assisting in the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Supporting pupils with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Implementing strategies and interventions recommended through EHCPs and SEND support plans.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support progress and wellbeing.
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.
What We''re Looking For
- Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
- Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional learning needs.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with children and support their individual needs.
- Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
