Teaching Assistant in Huddersfield - Children with Complex Needs (Immediate & September Starts)

We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support children with complex disabilities in specialist educational settings in Huddersfield. These roles are available for immediate start as well as September 2026, offering a fantastic opportunity for experienced and compassionate individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with complex needs in accessing the curriculum
• Assist with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
• Carry out moving and handling in line with training and guidelines
• Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with complex needs (this could be in an employed or personal capacity)
• Experience or training in moving and handling
• Comfortable supporting with personal care when required
• A caring, patient, and positive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable (not essential):

• PEG feeding training
• Makaton trained
