Teaching Assistant - EOTAS Student

We are seeking a specialist teaching assistant to work with students needs in an EOTAS (Education Other than at School) setting in Canterbury. The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the student and the wider education team to create a positive, supportive and engaging learning experience. You will help the student access their education, build confidence and develop important academic, social and life skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated one-to-one support tailored to the student''s individual needs.
• Supporting learning activities and helping the student stay engaged and motivated.
• Building a positive, trusting relationship with the student.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapting your approach to meet changing needs and circumstances.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, families and other professionals.
• Maintaining a calm, patient and consistent approach at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Confident adapting learning and communication approaches.
• Able to build strong, positive relationships.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
• Experienced working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable.

Previous experience in an EOTAS, SEN, alternative provision or specialist education setting would be advantageous, but the right attitude, commitment and willingness to learn are equally important.
