SANZA Teaching Agency is working in partnership with a friendly, community primary school in Newham. The school is looking for teaching assistants with experience supporting Autism and SEMH needs (social, emotional, mental health).

Role Details:

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
• Trial sessions to be held the week beginning 1st September 2025
• Successful candidates will begin immediately on a contract until July 2026
• You will work on a 1:1 basis, as well as supporting small groups of students
• You will move across the year groups supporting different students throughout the day so you will need to be flexible and adaptable

As a teaching assistant supporting with Autism & SEMH needs:

• Supporting pupils with Autism in developing their communication and language skills
• Creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that fosters social connection with peers
• Follow a tailored behaviour support plan
• Helping deliver adapted lessons and learning tasks suited to the individual needs of each pupil
• Encouraging functional and expressive communication through consistent modelling and guidance
• Support pupils in understanding instructions and completing tasks
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Support pupils in developing self-help skills, including time management, organisation, and confidence
