Teaching Assistant
Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a school based in Ashtead.
Pay Rates: £110-£120 Day rate Umbrella Rate
Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 35 hours per week during term time plus 3 INSET days for 8 weeks with views to extend.
What you will be doing:
- Support pupils with an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) to access the curriculum and increase their knowledge, understanding and confidence.
- Provide administrative support to designated pupils by taking classroom notes, modifying texts and liaising with teachers on their behalf, as required.
- Contribute to and attend EHCP Annual Review meetings.
- Supervise and provide learning support for all pupils.
- Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
- Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities.
- Encourage pupils to interact with the class and engage in activities.
- Provide feedback to pupils and teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress and any problems that arise.
- Create and maintain a supportive environment, undertaking administrative tasks as needed.
- Promote good pupil conduct encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour.
- Support the use of technology in learning and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.
- Prepare and maintain resources required for learning activities and assist pupils in their use.
- Uphold policies and procedures relating to child protection and data protection.
- Supervise pupils before school, after school and on school trips.
- Provide the teacher with clerical support.
- Attend relevant training to support the completion of the role.
Specialist knowledge skills and experience
- Experience in a similar role working either one to one with a specific student or with small groups of students
- Able to apply school policies and practices professionally.
- A thorough understanding of the statutory framework regarding safeguarding, and its implementation at Freemen’s.
- Confident and competent in the use of ICT, particularly Office 365
- Ability to establish rapport and respectful and trusting relationships with children, their parents / carers / families, and other adults.
- The ability to work towards an agreed outcome, particularly when it is not the approach that you might have chosen.
Desirable skills:
Educated to A level standard or equivalent with GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C/5 or above. (A)
