Supply Desk is delighted to be partnering with a friendly and inclusive Primary School in Bushey. We’re currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 support to a child with Global Developmental Delay (GDD), helping them access learning and thrive within a nurturing school environment. If you’re dedicated to supporting children with additional needs, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role:You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted 1:1 support for a pupil with GDD. Your role will be key in ensuring they receive the emotional, academic, and social support needed to progress confidently in the classroom.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:Supporting learning and development through tailored strategies and activities
Assisting with the implementation of the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Liaising with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
Adapting resources to meet the pupil’s individual learning style
Recording and reporting on progress
Experience supporting children with Global Developmental Delay or similar developmental needs
A calm, nurturing, and patient approach
Strong communication and collaboration skills
An understanding of SEN best practices
A commitment to helping children reach their full potential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
A long-term role in a supportive school environment
Competitive daily rate: £85–£100 per day (depending on experience)
