GSL Education are delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Christchurch. Starting this September 2025, you’ll be working full-time with a Year 2 pupil on the Autistic Spectrum, helping them feel confident, included, and supported in their learning journey.

Your Role and Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 2, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages growth and independence.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans.
- Promote emotional wellbeing and help manage behaviour in a calm and supportive manner.
- Contribute to the wider school community and uphold safeguarding standards.
What We’re Looking in Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism in an educational or care setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or already registered on the update service).
