Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (Crawley Area)

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Support the education and social development of students, under the direction of teaching staff and the SEND team

  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and boost confidence

  • Assist students with additional needs, including personal care and mobility support when required

  • Support teaching staff with lesson delivery, classroom inclusion, and maintaining records

  • Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists

  • Promote a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment

What we''re looking for:

  • Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A caring, adaptable, and proactive approach

  • Basic ICT skills to support student learning

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Safeguarding requirements:

  • All applicants must either hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check

  • Further vetting checks will also be required in line with safeguarding policies
