Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support (Maternity Cover)
Location: Barnsley
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Part-time, 5 mornings per week
Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be working with a welcoming primary school in Barnsley who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This maternity cover role is to start as soon as possible and will run across 5 mornings each week.
The Role:
Providing tailored 1:1 support to primary-aged students from EYFS to KS1.
Supporting pupils with SEN to access learning and achieve personal goals.
Assisting with classroom activities, small group work, and individual interventions.
Helping to promote inclusion and create a positive, safe and supportive environment.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and learning plans.
The School is looking for someone who:
Has previous experience supporting children with SEN (particularly within EYFS/KS1).
Demonstrates patience, empathy and a nurturing approach.
Can adapt to individual learning needs and deliver engaging support.
Works well within a team and shows commitment to pupil progress and wellbeing.
