Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday

Job Description:
A secondary school in Andover is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time role offers a contract through to Easter, with the possibility of extension. You will be working closely with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing vital 1:1 and small group support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with teaching staff to deliver personalised support, helping students stay focused, build confidence, and make meaningful progress. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who benefit from tailored educational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with EHCPs, both in and out of the classroom

  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting resources to meet individual learning needs

  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development

  • Promote and maintain positive behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies where necessary

  • Track student progress and provide feedback to teaching and support staff

  • Help create a safe, encouraging learning environment for all students

What We''re Looking For:

  • Experience working with students with EHCPs or Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable

  • A genuine passion for supporting students who face barriers to learning

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to support

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics

  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are a bonus but not essential
