Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants with SEND experience to work in schools across the area, supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide targeted support for pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and communication difficulties. This role may include 1:1 support or small-group interventions, helping students access learning and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

The Successful Teaching Assistant Will Have:

• At least 6 months’ experience working within UK schools
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH needs
• Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A patient, nurturing and supportive approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding
