Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with an outstanding SEN school in Watford. We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and a range of other complex learning difficulties. If you are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role:You will work closely with classroom teachers and SEND specialists to support students across Key Stages 2–4 within a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. Your support will help learners build confidence, develop key life skills, and achieve their academic and personal development goals.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs
Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional resilience
Adapting learning resources to engage students effectively
Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Helping to create a calm and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and well-being
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and confidently
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and inclusive education
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
A long-term, rewarding role within a specialist SEN setting
Competitive daily rate: £85–£105 (dependent on experience)
Ongoing training and CPD in SEND and behaviour management
A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement
