Job Title: Teaching Assistant- Autism (ASC)

Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time andndash; Term Time Only
Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role:

A well-regarded and inclusive school in Milton Keynes is looking to appoint a dedicated Autism (ASC) Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition across both classroom and 1:1 settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a nurturing team that promotes a safe, structured environment where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support pupils with Autism in accessing the curriculum, developing social skills, and building independence
  • Work alongside the class teacher to create and adapt resources and deliver engaging activities
  • Implement strategies from Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Risk Assessments, and therapy programmes
  • Foster positive and therapeutic relationships with students
  • Collaborate with parents, SENCOs, and external agencies to provide consistent support
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to review meetings

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children or young people with Autism or complex needs
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting behaviour and communication
  • Strong understanding of SEN and a desire to learn and develop professionally
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Training in TEACCH, PECS, Team Teach, or positive handling (advantageous)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
