Teaching Assistant and 1:1 Support Assistant - Specialist Secondary School (SEND) Prospero Teaching is seeking compassionate, resilient and proactive Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants to work within a specialist secondary school in Fareham. The school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, learning difficulties, and communication challenges.This rewarding role involves providing both classroom-based and individual 1:1 support to pupils, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team to deliver tailored support, encourage positive behaviour, and promote independence and engagement throughout the school day.Contract DetailsLocation: FarehamStart Date: September 2026Hours: 08:30am - 15:00pmFull-timePay Rate: From 14.25 per hourExperience, Training and Personal QualitiesExperience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or communication needsAbility to provide calm, consistent support and reassurance during periods of dysregulationStrong behaviour management skills while maintaining a positive and nurturing environmentA motivational approach to encourage engagement, communication, and confidenceUnderstanding of ..... full job details .....
