Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a committed and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive team at a SEMH school in Runcorn. If you are dedicated to improving confidence and securing positive long-term outcomes for young people, we would love to hear from you.
The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant would have previous experience working with children in secondary schools, as well as having managed emotional and behavioral barriers to learning. Knowledge of mental health is also desirable.
Job Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Assist the teacher in organizing and delivering engaging lessons.
- Support students and their needs
- Manage complex and challenging behaviour
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
Person Specification
- Experience with working with children or young people in education
- Patience and resilience when managing challenging behaviour
- A commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
- Excellent communication skills
