Full Time Teacher of Maths - Devizes
A secondary school in the Devizes area is looking for a full-time Teacher of Maths to join them from January 2027 on a maternity cover basis.

In this role you will inspire students to develop confidence and fluency in maths - from number and algebra through to statistics and geometry. Whether guiding students through problem-solving challenges, preparing them for GCSE examinations, or stretching the most able mathematicians, you will play a vital role in building the numerical skills young people need for life.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and where applicable KS5
- Teach across all areas of the maths curriculum including number, algebra, ratio, geometry,-probability-and statistics
- Set-high expectations-for numeracy,-reasoning-and mathematical thinking
- Mark and provide constructive written and verbal feedback on student work
- Track student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Manage pupil behaviour in line with the-school''s behaviour policy
- Contribute positively to the Maths department and wider school community
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (KS3 and KS4)
- Strong subject knowledge across all areas of the secondary Maths curriculum
- Confident and engaging classroom practitioner with excellent behaviour management skills
- Ability to plan and deliver structured,-logical-and outcomes-focused lessons
- Excellent numerical and analytical communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience teaching Maths or Further Maths at A-Level (KS5)
- Familiarity with GCSE Maths specifications across major exam boards
- Experience supporting students with dyscalculia or numeracy difficulties
- Knowledge of maths intervention strategies and booster programmes
- Experience working across multiple school settings
