About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact within a supportive and forward-thinking department. The role is offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful initial period.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on experience)

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners

• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement

• Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and departmental resources

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and maintain high teaching standards

• Participate in parent evenings, staff meetings, and wider school life

About You
You will be a passionate and motivated English teacher with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach.

Essential Requirements

• A degree in English or a related subject

• Experience teaching English at secondary level (including placements)

• Strong classroom management skills

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

Desirable

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching English Literature and Language at GCSE

• Familiarity with the current UK curriculum

• Ability to teach A-Level English
