Responsibilities

Deliver English to girls in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.

Create challenging and thought-provoking lessons with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration.

Teach across the secondary age range in mixed ability sets (of no more than 24 pupils).

A Level English Literature is a popular option for pupils.

Focus on teaching the subject and enthusing pupils; contribute to a supportive department.

Support for professional development, including dedicated ECT provision and mentoring where applicable.

Additional ContextThis role would be ideally suited to an ECT. The school provides superb ECT provision for professional development. Experienced teachers receive a planning allowance (20% PPA); for ECTs, additional planning time is provided along with a comprehensive mentoring programme.
