Progress Teachers are working closely with a Nottingham mainstream secondary school to appoint a strong Teacher of English to support pupils across KS3-KS4 to develop the skills and approaches necessary to be successful in their studies whilst also developing a true passion for English literature and language.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards, catering lessons to all skillsets.
- Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to students of varying abilities.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and feedback.
- Provide additional support to students who may require extra help or resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience within the school.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
Requirements:
- Teaching experience - 1 years (2 years required if you don't have QTS)
- Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willing to obtain)
- Safeguarding & KCSIE (or willing to obtain)
- A degree in English, Education, or a related field (essential)
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and assessment techniques.
- A passion for literature and the English language, along with a desire to inspire others.
