An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join its successful English department from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire a love of literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates. Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners.

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons that motivate and challenge students.
• Foster a positive learning environment where all students can achieve their potential.
• Contribute to the continued success and development of the English department.
• Use assessment effectively to support student progress and attainment.
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school community.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
• Demonstrates high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Is committed to providing excellent teaching and learning experiences.
• Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
