Clarence Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Rugby, Warwickshire to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Drama for an ongoing rolling contract starting as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful Performing Arts department, delivering engaging and creative Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and GCSE. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop confidence, communication skills, creativity and a genuine appreciation for performance and the arts.

The Role


The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Drama lessons across KS3 and GCSE.
  • Encourage creativity, collaboration and self-expression through performance.
  • Plan, prepare and assess high-quality lessons that support student progress and achievement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Support students in developing confidence, communication and performance skills.
  • Prepare pupils for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
  • Contribute to the continued success and development of the Performing Arts department.
  • Support school productions, performances and extracurricular Drama activities where appropriate.
  • Foster a love of the performing arts both inside and outside the classroom.


We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Drama within a secondary school setting.
  • Can confidently teach Drama across KS3 and GCSE.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is passionate about inspiring students through creative and engaging learning experiences.
  • Has strong organisational, communication and planning abilities.
  • Is committed to achieving positive outcomes for students of all abilities.
  • Works effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
  • Shares a genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
