Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting children with Autism and complex needs?
We are working with a specialist SEN school in Canterbury that caters for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of complex learning needs. The school is committed to providing a structured, supportive, and highly personalised learning environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.
They are now seeking a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teacher with QTS to join their team.
The Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of your pupils. You will work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure each child receives a holistic and consistent approach to their education and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative, personalised lessons to pupils with ASC and complex SEN
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
- Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with LSAs, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, setting realistic and meaningful targets
- Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Experience working within SEN, particularly ASC and/or complex needs (desirable)
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable in approach
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and behaviour management strategies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs
