A progressive and client-focused accountancy practice in Bristol is looking to appoint a Tax Consultant to support its expanding client base. This role offers a varied workload, working with entrepreneurs, private individuals, family-owned businesses and growing companies across a broad range of sectors.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced Tax Senior looking to step up or an established Tax Manager seeking a fresh challenge within a modern and collaborative practice environment.

Your new role

• Managing tax affairs for a portfolio of business and private clients.
• Supporting company directors and business owners with tax-efficient remuneration planning.
• Preparing and reviewing complex tax submissions and disclosures.
• Assisting clients with business acquisitions, disposals and restructuring projects.
• Handling correspondence and negotiations with HMRC.
• Collaborating with the accounts team to identify tax planning opportunities.
• Conducting technical research and preparing client recommendations.
• Supporting junior members of the tax department through coaching and training.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changing tax legislation and best practice.

What you''ll need to succeed

• ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or qualified by experience).
• Strong background working within an accountancy practice or tax consultancy environment.
• Sound understanding of UK taxation principles.
• Experience dealing directly with clients and managing relationships.
• Ability to interpret technical tax matters and communicate them clearly.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service.
