This role offers high-visibility exposure to complex HMRC investigations, voluntary disclosures, and tax risk advisory-working directly alongside the Head of Tax Disputes in a supportive, growth-focused practice. Key Responsibilities Controversy and Investigations: Manage a diverse caseload including COP8 and COP9 investigations, HMRC enquiries, and complex voluntary disclosures. HMRC Negotiations: Handle direct technical correspondence and negotiations with HMRC, including penalty mitigation and dispute resolution. Risk Advisory: Perform detailed tax risk analysis and advise clients on controversy prevention and risk management strategies. Portfolio and Collaboration: Take ownership of client matters while collaborating closely with wider internal tax, legal, and compliance teams.
