Principal Examiner (T Level Construction) – Fully RemoteResponsibilities
Ensure that the standards of externally assessed unit(s)/module(s)/component(s) are maintained and consistent with the unit specification and assessment criteria.Oversee the standardisation of Examiners.Represent Pearson in meetings and standardisation activities; lead meetings such as pre-standardisation and standardisation, and participate in others (e.g., appeals, post-series reviews).Select and mark items for validity as agreed at the pre-standardisation meeting; mark allocations of live candidates\'' responses to quality assure as required.Prepare and collate materials for standardisation; support supervisors and Examiners; monitor progress of supervisors/Examiners.Review responses for clarification; act as a senior point of escalation across the quality assurance process.Provide support across multiple paper versions, including those introduced during the contractual period.Monitor and report to the Assessment team after standardisation and completion of marking; submit a completed feedback form for each supervisor/Examiner as directed.Support awarding activities by writing reports to the Awarding Committee and participating in related activities; assist in determining grade boundaries as required.Complete the Senior Assessment Associate review process and attend follow-up meetings with the assessment team when required.Submit reports on series/candidate performance and provide written responses to complaints where required.Skills, Competencies and Experience
Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.History of moderation and/or marking a regulated qualification.Excellent communication skills; ability to provide and coordinate training such as standardisation and other standards-related activities.Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector, including internal and external requirements.Examples of leading or supporting essential quality assurance activities.High level of IT proficiency (Desirable: leadership experience in delivering qualifications; knowledge of regulatory compliance and requirements; report writing within a regulated industry).Qualifications and Experience
A UK recognised teaching qualification; vocational qualifications (e.g., BTEC/FS) and relevant CPD evidence in the subject area within the last 12 months.Minimum of one full academic year of teaching experience in the relevant subject area/sector within the last 8 years and/or extensive knowledge and experience in Pearson assessment, quality and processes and national standards within the last 5 years.Please contact Pearson ahead of your application if the qualification requirements are not clear.Note:
