This role is a new position, based in the Special Vehicle Operations Propulsion department. Together, the team looks after development of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) systems. Your role in the team by focusing on the planning and supporting of tests of electric vehicle powertrains for the halo products within the customer product range.


The successful applicant will be connecting with engineers and facility planners, organising the preparation of vehicles and parts for testing and contribute to the collection of data in a wide range of environments such as on test rigs, public roads and proving grounds.


As a Systems Test andamp; Validation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems solutions that meet our clients'' needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of systems, while adhering to industry standards and best practices.

Duties include but not limited to -
* Reporting of design verification plan status
* On-time planning and execution of team test events/trips, facility/rig-based testing (including Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) and Powertrain-in-the-Loop (PiL) testing
* Tracking and execution of design verification test cases
* Successful triaging of propulsion system issues discovered during testing.
* Effective, standardised data capture and storage across test cases and methods.
* Planning and organising of part and vehicle preparation activities and logistics, ensuring that testing happens on time and that the correct data is collected.
* To collate, manipulate and organise the data collected and share with engineers for review.
* Undertake any other work as assigned by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested


Qualifications:
* BEng or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.


Essential Skills
* Strong organisational skillset, with relevant prior experience.
* Dependable and approachable, working closely with colleagues and suppliers, making sure that the plan is clear and understood
* Initial/first look at results and data and ability to triage and work through issues with the relevant engineers.
* Natural problem-solver with structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.
* Ability to create planning documents, e.g. vehicle usage plans and project timing plans.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH and SDS
* Computer literate, including Microsoft Office ability to produce plans, presentations, graphs, and process documents.
* A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualification, 2 years accident-free record


Desired Skills:
* Experience of working with prototype automotive high voltage systems.
* Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification.
* Experience with TS16949 or ISO9001 standards and requirements
* Experience and certification for conducting testing on proving grounds.
* Proficient in the use and application of a programming / scripting language (Microsoft VBA, Excel macros, Python or similar)
* Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual
