Role: Systems Architect Location: Bristol Salary: Up to 57,000 depending on experience + bonus + benefits Job Type: Permanent, Hybrid About the Role We are seeking a Systems Architect to take ownership of a critical command and control system for defence programmes. This system is at the heart of complex systems, integrating hardware and software to detect, assess, and respond to threats. You will lead a small engineering team, delivering system and software design, ensuring integration across multiple programmes, and managing design changes from concept to implementation. This is a hands on leadership role, giving exposure to the full product development lifecycle while delivering capability that protects national and export defence customers. Key Responsibilities The Systems Architect will lead a small team developing new hardware and software designs Translate requirements into detailed functional design documentation Ensure integration with wider weapon system components Manage design changes and maintain configuration control Report progress, predict schedules, and support programme delivery Experience and Skills Required Strong understanding of the software/system development lifecycle Experience in systems architecture, design definition, and testing Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, SysML, or UML Ability to lead small teams and work effectively in cross-functional environments Excellent problem-solving skills and technical ..... full job details .....
