System Test & Validation Engineer

Expleo is seeking a driven and passionate System Test & Validation Engineer to support our prestigious automotive customer based in Warwickshire on a contract basis(Inside IR35).

The Role

As a System Test & Validation Engineer, you will take ownership of validating system features across the connected car ecosystem, ensuring they are delivered to the highest standards of quality and performance.

You will be responsible for defining validation strategies, creating robust test plans, leading test activity, and driving end-to-end feature validation on vehicles. This role will also focus on test process improvement, automation, and reuse of existing test assets to maximise efficiency and consistency across the programme.

Working within a collaborative and non-hierarchical team, you will contribute to the transformation of current technologies into next-generation digital capabilities that support the future of luxury mobility.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed test plans aligned with software release milestones and programme requirements
• Lead test activities, set priorities, and monitor delivery against validation plans
• Design comprehensive test cases and scenarios to ensure full requirement coverage
• Review test artefacts to ensure the quality and consistency of test cases, scripts, and reports
• Drive test execution, analyse outcomes, and provide clear reporting on test status and results
• Perform end-to-end vehicle testing to ensure features achieve delivery maturity
• Track, manage, and report defects, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support timely resolution
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of validation methods, with a strong focus on automation and best practice reuse
• Support the delivery of robust, defect-free customer experiences across connected vehicle features

Essential skills & experience:

• Test strategy and test planning at system level with focus on real-world usage scenarios and failure modes.
• Defect Lifecycle managment.
• Strong hands-on understanding of automotive architecture and protocols like CAN, Ethernet (SomeIP/DoIP)
• Experience in using logging and measurement tools like Vector CANoe, Intrepid, etc.
• Vehicle and test rig level experience including flashing ECUs.
• Understanding of automotive systems, practices and procedures
