Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with multiple development teams to reliably deliver AWS services into production environments.Create and improve processes for releasing, monitoring, and patching services.Identify issues and drive solutions to ensure rock-solid stability and performance.Own services and contribute to operational excellence, including proactive delivery and out-of-hours support where needed.

Day-to-Day

Systems Engineers apply Linux skills to solve problems, keep software up-to-date, and provide data and metrics to manage capacity and efficiency. They troubleshoot system-related issues, communicate clearly, and collaborate to deliver results. They are self-starters who adapt to ambiguity and change, and they focus on customer pain points to find quick, complete resolutions.

Qualifications

Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experienceWorking knowledge of Linux system administrationExperience with systems automation using BASH, Python, Perl, etc.Experience with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)Good troubleshooting skills at all levels (application, network, host)Preferred QualificationsExposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerationsExperience in a production environmentExperience with monitoring frameworks (CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic or similar)
