OverviewEnso Recruitment is working on behalf of a global technology-driven organisation to recruit a
System Architect
to join a growing architecture function. This is a strategic role within a large, agile delivery environment, offering the opportunity to shape systems and solutions that support enterprise-wide digital transformation. The successful candidate will play a key part in guiding feature teams and aligning technical delivery to architectural vision, helping to design and implement scalable systems across multiple teams and locations. The role is based in Belfast on a hybrid model.
Key Responsibilities
Define and communicate architectural vision across agile delivery teams.
Align architecture with enterprise standards, ensuring systems meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to translate business objectives into scalable, technical solutions.
Lead the development and evolution of the architecture runway to support ongoing product delivery.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship across development teams.
Establish and uphold standards for system quality, including performance, security and maintainability.
Design and evolve system architecture in close collaboration with developers and testers.
Support DevOps practices, continuous delivery pipelines and cloud infrastructure design.
Maintain architectural documentation and tooling to support transparency and consistency across teams.
Experience Required
Strong background in software architecture and technical design.
Hands-on experience with enterprise-level systems in one or more development languages (e.g., Java, C#, TypeScript, etc.).
Experience working in agile environments, ideally within a scaled agile framework.
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.
Good understanding of cloud computing, containerisation, and DevOps pipelines.
Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant architectures.
Previous involvement in aligning solutions with business and product goals.
Exposure to modern application architecture including microservices and APIs.
Key Skills
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to define and manage non-functional requirements (NFRs).
Proficient in architectural design tools and modelling techniques.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
Ability to mentor teams and support knowledge sharing within the organisation.
Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of financial systems or trading platforms.
Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled agile delivery models.
Understanding of micro-frontend architecture.
